About Pits of Hope

Pits of Hope is the nonprofit initiative of The Pit Shoppe, created to turn creativity, community, and compassion into meaningful action.

Founded in Central Texas in April 2026, The Pit Shoppe began as a small handmade business built on the belief that even the smallest charm can carry a powerful story. As our community grew, so did our desire to give back. Pits of Hope was created to help empower women within our community through assistance programs, support resources, and opportunities that encourage independence, healing, and growth.

Funding for Pits of Hope comes from community donations and a portion of the profits from every Checkered Collection purchase. When you choose a checkered item from The Pit Shoppe, you’re not only supporting a small business—you’re helping us invest directly into women who may need a helping hand, a fresh start, or a reminder that they are not alone.

Our mission is simple:
